The Critical Florida Vote - NFPA 921

News from Orlando, Florida ... The votes have been counted and it’s official, the new 2001 Edition of NFPA 921: Guide for Fire and Explosion Investigations was adopted November 15, 2000 by the voting membership of the NFPA, at its Fall 2000, meeting.

Prior to the adoption vote the NFPA Technical Committee on Fire Investigations’ report was presented to the members by Technical Committee chairman and NAFI Treasurer, Daniel Churchward, CFEI.

NAFI Chairman of the Board and NFPA 921 Technical Committee member Patrick Kennedy, CFEI addressed the assembled audience and expressed the National Association of Fire Investigators’ support of the revised document. Mr. Kennedy was joined in voicing his support for the by President of The International Association of Arson  Investigators (IAAI), Gerald Naylis.

The new 2001 version of NFPA 921 is expected to be issued by the NFPA Standards Council in February, 2001 and will be available for public purchase soon after.
