The International Association of Fire Investigators (IAFl) was launched by NAFI in 2012. The organization was created to fill a need in the fire investigation community to support and train investigators whose work and training extends across international borders.
IAFI's mission is to provide a platform for networking, training, education, and improving the technical performance of these international fire investigation professionals.
Full membership in IAFI is open to all professional fire investigators and analysts, forensic fire scientists and specialists, and fire litigation attorneys who have actively participated in the investigation of fires or fire investigation training and education, beyond the borders of their home country. Membership in IAFI is free to NAFI members good standing.
There are three grades of IAFI membership:
- Fellow: (F-IAFI)
- Member (M-IAFI)
- Affiliate (A-IAFI)
